The NRG Insulated Masonry Unit is the newest and most advanced product in the Anchor line. The system uses concrete's positive thermal mass to enhance the walls ability to create a barrier to the outside elements. With an expanded polystyrene insert placed into the unit at the plant, a continuous thermal barrier is formed and the units thermal bridge is broken. There are no web connections, thus no energy breaks between the exterior wall veneer and the interior core. This unique design forms a barrier between the outside and inside environments, reduces air temperature fluctuations, while exceeding the strength of typical concrete masonry construction.
The NRG block offers you a reduction in dew point temperature of 80 degrees, a 4 hour fire rating, the ability to design with both vertical and horizontal reinforcement, meets seismic criteria for sheer wall construction, and meets/exceeds ASTM C-90 specifications. The NRG Insulated Masonry Unit offers you, the designer, the highest "R"-Value available in single width masonry construction, up to a 24 "R"-Value is available with the NRG unit!!
